Plaid Gift Wrap Nails & Burnt Gift Wrap

Hey everyone!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve.

Have you got all your holiday shopping done?

It's a madhouse out there. I hope to NOT go to any dept. stores from now until after Christmas! One of my guilty pleasures is to hit the after-Christmas sales. C'mon $5 body butter!

Anyway, here's some green plaid gift wrap nails I did last weekend:

Colors used:
Wet n Wild Emerald Rock City
OPI Electric Eel
Stripe Rite Gold, White and Black stripers
Konad White
Black Bow

I started off with stamping the plaid pattern from the MDU plate using Konad white to make the fine lines.  The base color was this nice emerald green from Wet n Wild and I added more green shimmer from OPI Electric Eel.  I then used my striper nail art polishes over the pattern to add depth and more detail to the plaid.  I thought I had a white bow but I didn't!  The black bow worked fine.  A white bow would have work better! *curses*

Then I decided to "burn" it! Oftentimes, used gift wrap ends up in the fireplace right?

I was inspired by the "burnt love letters" nail art that popped up around Valentines day. I used a sponge to lightly dab some brown and black polish over the design. I erased some of the design using my cleanup brush and a Q-tip dipped in acetone.  It did take some effort to erase through the design but not completely erasing it.  I added a coat of China Glaze Matte Magic to make it matte and give it a distressed look.  Overall, I liked how it turned out and it was definitely what I was going for.

I hope you enjoyed this look!

More Christmas nail art to come.

Illamasqua Melange + Unicorns

I purchased Illasmaqua's Melange off of eBay a couple of months ago.  I never got around to wearing it because it was the Halloween/fall season and I wanted to do Halloween nail art.

This color is from their fall 2014 collection and unfortunately is no longer sold in US stores. Illamasqua pulled its US distribution earlier this year for reasons unknown. ::sad pandas::

Halloween Nail Art Ideas

Like I said yesterday, Halloween is my favorite time of year for nail art!

Here's all my Halloween nail art looks completed thus far. I meant to post them individually but time caught up to me. So here they are in one post!

I'll list colors and stamping plates used. I mostly used my Bundle Monster and FUN plates.

First up:

Glitter gradient

Colors used:
Sinful Colors Black on Black
China Glaze It's Alive

This was my first manicure with my newly shaped almond nails. It was new territory for me.

Cobweb nails with a french tip

Colors used:

Essie Fill the Gap (base coat)
Essie Pure Pearlfection
Sinful Colors Black on Black
Konad Special White (stamping)
Black striper polish
Silver glitter striper polish

Stamping Plates:
Fauxnad Plate T13H

I did this as a full manicure.

How do you paint a french tip with your non-dominate hand? Practice! Lots and lot of practice.

Holographic cobwebs

Colors used:

China Glaze Grape Pop
Urban Outfitters Silver Holographic (stamping)

Stamping Plate: DRK-A

I added rhinestones from Born Pretty Store but I didn't like this look so I took them off.

Spiral Nails

Colors used:

Layla Mercury Twilight
Sinful Colors Black on Black
Urban Outfitters Silver Holographic (stamping)
Daiso Black (stamping)
China Glaze Fairy Dust

Stamping Plate: DRK-A

I'm not sure if this counts as Halloween nails but I read "Uzumaki" (The Sprial) and that was the most frightening thing I ever read. It still terrifies me even thinking about it even though I read it over 5 years ago.

Happy Halloween from Snoopy and Hello Kitty

Colors used:

Sally Hansen Insta Dri Dreamsicle
Essie As Gold as it Gets
Daiso Black (stamping)

Stamping Plates:

Fauxnad plate CF01 (Snoppy & Hello Kitty)
Fauxnad plate T13H (cobwebs)
Bundle Monster BM424 (pawprints), BMH07 (Trick or Treat)

Hello Kitty Pumpkin

Colors used:
Zoya Mimi
Avon Purple Chrome (stamping)

Plates Used:
FUN Plate 9 (Bows & Bones)
FUN Plate 10 (Hello Kitty in a Pumpkin)
Fauxnad M17 (Hello Kitty Face)
Bundle Monster BM209 (Witch's Hat)

I put a witch's hat on the Hello Kitty. The camera didn't really pick it up and the base color was a little too dark. I wanted to put the witch's hat on Snoppy but it didn't fit. This is probably my favorite manicure.

Purple Kitty Moon

Colors Used:

OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-Holm?
OPI Rumples Wiggin'
Konad Special White (stamping)

Plates Used:

Fauxnad plate T13H (cobwebs)
Bundle Monster BM424 (pawprints)
BM14 (stars)
BM04 (kitty)
FUN 10 (moon)

The trees were freehand.

Blue Kitty Moon

Colors Used:

OPI DS Magic
China Glaze Happy go Lucky
Holographic Glitter

Skulls & Studs

Colors used:

Wet n Wild Roadwork
Borghese Chroma (sponging)

Square Studs are from a nail art wheel I bought from Walgreens.
Skulls I bought off eBay.
The camera and lighting couldn't pick up the silver sponging.

Candy Corn Gradient

It looks a little textured here because I didn't a topcoat at this point. I wanted to add nail art.

Colors Used:

BYS French White
Sally Hansen Insta Dri Dreamsicle
Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow
Daiso Black (stamping)

Plate used: Bundle Monster BM405

I wanted melted candy corn but it looks more like flames.

Plates used: Bundle Monster BM306

Stamper? I use the XL squishy stamper. I bought it from Ninja Polish which has since closed. Try this one; I think it's the same but ask the seller.

Well that was fun!

I might create one more Halloween nail art look but I think I've done all I wanted to do for this year.

Which one was your favorite?

If you have any further questions regarding these manicures, please email me. I posted links above to where I bought all my plates.

Duochrome French Tip

Hey everyone!

Quick post today!

I wanted to wear a Chanel Peridot dupe but thought wearing it was a full manicure would be a little too much for the office but thought I'd try it as a french tip.

I wanted it be more subtle.

I was inspired by this nail art found through Google image search.

More Neon Gradients

Hey everyone!

On weekends, I like to wear neon because wells it's the weekend!

Here's a fun neon gradient:

Indirect outdoor light.

Artificial light

Colors used:

China Glaze Neon & On On
China Glaze Sun of a Peach
China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

I first painted my nails white and then sponged on the neon pink, orange and yellow on all nails. I applied a quick dry top coat and added black striping tape in a "V" shape. For the accent nail, I added the tape and sponged over it with black acrylic paint and then removed the tape to create a contrast. I wish I used a more saturated neon orange because it didn't show up too well. Overall, I was happy with it.

This nail art is inspired from my "nail art to try" board on Pinterest:

It was from this nail art monthly subscription service. I think? It's no longer a site.

I also like to wear neon shirts. This is me gaming.  If you seen gaming videos pop up on my Youtube channel, that's why.

Thanks for reading.

Pastel & Studs

Hi everyone!

I also bought a Japanese nail polish when I bought the Japanese nail art book a few weeks ago.

I bought Pa A134 a sheer shimmery mint polish.

Actually it's really sheer so I layered it over Orly's Gumdrop.

Here's the lovely Gumdrop on its own:

I added some pastel studs from Born Pretty Store.

For some reason this combination reminded me of Punky Brester.

Thanks for reading!

**Pastels studs were sent for review from Born Pretty Store. Please see my full post here.

Picture Polish Mask-a-rade + Galaxy nails

Hi everyone!

I hope you are having a good week!

Lately, I've been trying to get through some of the untried polishes in my collection.

I have many untrieds *hangs head in shame*.

One of my untrieds was Picture Polish Mask-a-rade which I think is now discontinued.

Seattle Cityscape Nails

Hello everybody!

Hope your week is going splendid!

Today, I will be heading to Seattle for some job training and a company meeting.

What better way to commemorate Seattle than with a cityscape manicure!
