Born Pretty Store: Mixed Metals Nail Art Roll Foils review

For review today is a nail art foil from Born Pretty Store. I've been waiting to try nail art foils for quite some time now but found start up kits to be rather expensive. Luckily, Born Pretty Store offers a variety of nail art foils at affordable prices.

Item #: 5361 has a sort of metallic leopard rainbow pattern. Size: 113cm (length), 2.5 (width)

Here's the manicure I did using the nail art foil over black polish:

To apply, I found some useful tutorials from Robin Moses nail art on how to best apply nail foils.  I did not have the glue she mentioned.  So I used my PVA glue to apply the nail foil.  I think it has the same ingredients.

To Apply:
  • Cut pieces of the nail art foil to fit your nails.
  • Apply your base color and let dry thoroughly.
  • Apply your adhesive and let dry.
  • Place the foil over your nail shiny side down and lightly rub. The pattern should transfer.
  • Apply top coat to protect your manicure.
Final thoughts & Availability?

I was very satisfied in my first attempt at using nail art foils and enjoyed the final result. I could not get the entire print to transfer completely solid but the incomplete look gave it a grunge/rustic aspect. I used Orly's Won't Chip as a top coat and the did wrinkle/shrink somewhat but not completely noticeable.  I did use the nail art foil as a pedicure and was able to get the pattern to transfer completely.  Maybe it would work better on shorter nails?

Born Pretty Store has 27 colors of nail art foils available and retail for $2.99 per canister.  It does not come with foil adhesive but you can use PVA glue or wet top coat to adhere the foil.
